This year's Nene Award went to Inkheart by Cornelia Funke. The Nene Honor book was City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau. Thanks to all who attended the Nene Award Ceremony last week at Paliku Theater.

Hello everyone,
Thank you to everyone who registered their students to attend the Nene Ceremony. It will be held at Paliku Theater (Windward Community College) on May 14 from 10-10:45.

The Nene Committee would like to open up the registration at this time to librarians who would like to bring their library clubs or classes (up to 30 students)
Please email Loretta Nelson at Loretta_Nelson @notes.k12.hi.us to register. Please include your name, school, and number of students attending. Upon receiving your email, Loretta will work with you to set up appointment times for the Imaginarium and the Science Center for your large group.

Just a friendly reminder, if you were planning on participating in the Nene Award voting, it's time to put out your ballot boxes! Deadline for getting your library's votes in is Wednesday, March 11th.
You can print Nene ballots from the website, http://nene.k12.hi.us/vote/BALLOT.pdf
We're going to have a fillable form online for your votes (link forthcoming), but in the meantime you can use the tally form on the website http://nene.k12.hi.us/vote/tally.html for your own use.
If you receive any contest entries, they can be emailed to NeneAward@gmail.com or sent through delivery to Christin Lyons at Hawaii Kai (please label that they're for the Nene Award Contest)
